Privacy Policy — NAATI Sinhala Last updated: 10 May 2026 App: NAATI Sinhala (com.naatisinhala.practice) Publisher: Gihan Gamage Contact: [geekavenue@gmail.com] NAATI Sinhala ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a study app for the NAATI Credentialed Community Language (CCL) test in Sinhala. This policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used. Quick summary The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. The App does not require an account, sign-in, email, or phone number. The App does not include analytics, advertising, third-party tracking, or telemetry SDKs. The only data the App stores is on your device, in its private sandbox: your theme preference, your "hard words" list, and a single flag indicating whether you have purchased the Pro unlock. What the App stores on your device The App uses Android's app-private storage (the standard sandbox) to remember: Theme preference — light, dark, or system. Hard words list — vocabulary items you have flagged for revision. Purchase status — a single boolean flag indicating whether you have purchased the lifetime Pro unlock. On a fresh install this flag is restored automatically via Google Play's "Restore Purchases" mechanism, by querying Google Play for past purchases linked to your Google account. This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App removes it. Audio streaming Practice dialogue audio files are hosted on Google Drive and streamed over HTTPS when you tap Play. Google's standard server logs apply to that request (IP address, request time, user-agent). We do not access or use those logs. The audio request contains only the public file identifier; it does not include any account information, device identifier, or other data from the App. In-app purchase The App offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app product (naati_pro_unlock, AUD 9.99 lifetime unlock) processed by Google Play Billing. All purchase steps are handled by Google Play. We receive only the result of the purchase (success / pending / failed / refunded) and the product identifier; we never see your name, email, payment method, or billing address. Refunds are governed by Google Play's standard refund policy: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637. Permissions used The App requests only the minimum Android permissions required for its functionality: INTERNET — to stream dialogue audio. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to detect when there is no internet connection and show a friendly offline message instead of a generic error. com.android.vending.BILLING — to process the optional in-app purchase via Google Play. The App does not request, and the App's code does not access, any of the following: contacts, calendar, call logs, SMS, phone state, location, camera, microphone, body sensors, biometrics, files outside its private sandbox, accounts on the device, advertising identifier, or installed-apps list. Data shared with third parties We do not share any user data with third parties. The only third parties the App ever communicates with are: Google Drive (HTTPS, anonymous) — to stream dialogue audio. Google Play Billing (system service) — to process the optional one-time purchase. Neither of these communications transmits any user-identifying data from the App. Children's privacy The App is intended for adults (ages 18+) preparing for a credentialed translator / interpreter exam. The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Security All network requests use HTTPS. Data stored on your device sits inside the Android private app sandbox, which is automatically isolated from other apps and removed on uninstall. Your rights Because the App does not collect any personal data, there is no personal data for you to access, modify, export, or request deletion of. To remove all locally stored preferences (theme, hard-words list, Pro flag), simply uninstall the App. If you wish to revoke the Pro purchase, you may request a refund directly from Google Play under their standard refund policy linked above. Changes to this policy If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at the same public URL with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of the document. Continued use of the App after such an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
